This project focuses on promoting healing, restoration, and wholeness among educators in Religion and Theology of African descent and Africanists. It aims to develop self-care strategies that address growing mental health concerns in academia, particularly the rising rates of burnout among educators. An innovative retreat will create a supportive environment for intellectual and emotional growth, allowing participants to engage in collaborative discussions on the stressors contributing to burnout and develop actionable strategies for recovery and prevention. Practical exercises will encourage attendees to create personalized plans for effective stress management and resilience. Additionally, the retreat aims to build a nurturing community where educators can connect, share experiences, and enhance their teaching practices. By prioritizing self-care and balance, the initiative seeks to empower educators, helping them thrive in their roles. This vital endeavor embodies a commitment to uplifting educators and fostering a culture of resilience and empowerment within the field.
