Description
African American people do not need to be reminded that we live inside the story of white supremacy, hatred and a pervasive ethic of greed. While this story is not a new reality, it is a hindering and harmful reality. We gather to celebrate and remind ourselves of African American history, legacy, art and creativity that yearns for life, love, and community. Our meeting will rekindle the knowing of our imagination as tools of survival, tools to new realities, tools for creating spaces for our own thriving. This conversation, focusing upon personal reflection, will provide keys employing deeper imagination. We will ask such questions as: How do African American people move from the impossible to the possible? How do we stay sane and faithful? What is the key that unlocks our imagination? What does it mean that our knowing is by feeling a situation, feeling a person or feeling a circumstance? Our aim is to improve our teaching by improving our imaginations.
